The episodes originally came numbered 1 to approx 110 and all part of the same 'series'.  I used Get Info to change the series number as appropriate but left the episodes numbered 1-110 as changing them to match the series instance seemed like unnecessary effort. When I look in the iTunes media folder (which is on an external drive, if that makes a difference) they are correctly grouped by series in the folders. Interesting to hear that someone else has experienced this and it may be an iTunes version issue. How can I downgrade iTunes on my Mac to see if this is my root cause?</blockquote>
