After updating, the only screen I can see is the store. I can play the songs and everything, I just can't see the different playlists and stuff. Any ideas?

This may seem like a silly question, but in the left Source pane, can you click on Library at the very top?

I can't click on library, only on "Music" and all the other stuff that's under "Library"

Yeah, that's what I meant .... So when you click on Music .... all you see is the iTunes Music Store section to the right?

Yup, if I have already gone in the Music Store. If I haven't, the part that should list my songs are just blank. And I can play all my music, I just can't choose any of it bar the forward and backward buttons on top.

Close iTunes, then if you have it in the Dock, press Option as you click on the iTunes icon.

You will be presented with a dialogue box asking you choose an iTunes library. Click on the Create Library... button and then import some songs into the library.

This is to see if the problem is present in this new library.

The Problem still persists, and now I can't get back to my old library it seems

ETA looks like the old library file might be trashed as well.

Just quit iTunes and do the Option-Click on the iTunes icon in the Dock again and select your old iTunes library by going to Music -> iTunes ...

Yeah, I did. No go, unfortunately. Looks like the library file might be corrupt, cause I can open an old back-up library I had.

Did you download some songs from the Store? I noticed it has 2 songs in a little box to the left of your account email address (which you should have hidden BTW).

I have two song vouchers left.

I'm thinking I'll just delete iTunes and install it again to see what happens

ETA: Hid the email address, and I can report that the apple servers are overloaded. I'm getting 5 kb/sec

Are you downloading it from Apple.com? Let me know if the new installation fixes things ... I imagine it should.

Do you have any iTunes plugins enabled? If so deactivate them.

Also try trashing the iTunes plist file first before reinstalling iTunes...
"/Users/YOURUSER/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist"

Did you trash the .plist file as suggested.

I saw the suggestion only after I had installed iTunes again. My library is still trashed, so I guess I have a few playlists to rebuild, unless there is a way to rebuild them from the .xml file

Re-installing iTunes does not give you a new plist file unless you trash the old one first. Odds are your xml file is trashed anyway, so you probably need to start completely from scratch.
