Is question #2 in any way important? Samsung is one of the few companies on earth that can manufacture things to the scale Apple requires. They might fight or compete on other fronts, but Samsung has been a nearly-constant supplier of at least some parts for Apple, and continues to do so today. They may, in point of fact, actually be making SOME of the A8 chips for Apple, and are said to be gearing up to make the A9 chip for them (but no longer exclusively, because Apple has opted to reduce the amount of business it chooses to do with Samsung).
As for question #1, I refer you to the Microsoft era of tablets, or the pre-iPhone version of Android, or the early days of USB. There is a palpable difference between bringing a technology to market, and bringing a technology into the mainstream. As I think anyone who has looked into the details of Apple Pay will tell you, no Apple did not "copy" Android (for starters, NFC was not an "Android" invention).
