Is there a way to tag TS or OP per thread?

Sometimes on longer threads, I fail to remember who the thread starter or original poster are? Then I have to go back to the first post to figure it out.

Maybe there is a quick way to go to the first post, but I am unaware of it?

I agree, Bob.

It would be nice if a small version of the OP's Avatar (with name underneath) was situated right at the bottom of every post in a thread; say half way between Report and Like - Reply.

One could be posting #99 and immediately see who the OP is.

S1.jpg Something like that, maybe a touch smaller and in the middle?

An "OP" (Original Poster) tag has been added. Thread OP's avatar will display a small "OP" banner in the upper left corner of their avatar.

Enjoy:)

Yes, thanks. I did notice it earlier but the tag was red and hard to see, but when I just came back now, it is white, and easier to see.

Lost what? Your avatar shows a banner with "OP" in it, as you are the OP for this thread.
Not for me. All the avatars have sombreros

Like this.

I'm not sure what's happening, Bob. I'm not seeing that at all. The avatars in this thread are appearing normally. Your posts have the OP tag as they should with no sombreros.

I did just restart the browser, but nothing changed. What setting should look at?

Ditto for me. No sign of any "OP Banner" in any color that I can see, and PS: I'm glad somebody mentioned that was supposed to be a sombrero on top of the avatar. I only guessed it was something similar for respecting the Mexico celebration of the Day of the Dead.

This is what I see:

I see the OP tag. I think a bunch of you have the Mac Forums theme enabled, so it must be doing the halloween thing? Like the falling snow that comes later on..

I have uBlock origin blocking everything and I have the theming disabled..

Click on your name on the top bar to go to your profile, then Preferences on the left side and look for for "Disable holiday styling" in the Content Options section. If not checked, check it and you should get the normal stuff..

Sorry Ashwin, no change here, the sombrero does disappear when holiday styling preference is checked, but still no sign of any OP Banner, just a plain Avatar.

I also tried enabling a Google Chrome extension that's supposed to disable all other enabled extensions from working but it didn't make any difference at all, still no OP Banner on the OP's Avatar.

But not absolutely vital to have but it would be nice if it was working for some of us. Proof again that not everything works consistently or as it should for all users on the Internet.

Thanks anyway.

EDIT: I just tried using my version of Firefox to access Mac-forums and it does exactly the same thing, no OP Banner on the OP's Avatar.

Hmm, very odd that it's working for me. Perhaps Nick or Charlie have other ideas..

That's not what you see during Halloween. If you have the setting enabled to show them, the Halloween animation was a series of bats flying around the screen. Fun but somewhat distracting.

I don't remember a Day of the Dead-related graphic last year but I might have had those animations turned off. I usually turn them off but turned it on yesterday to check something.

Thanks Ashwin, that worked for me. One thing, I also changed this setting;

I just tried Firefox again and also Safari and now both are showing the op Banner as appropriate yet still not in my Google Chrome and I have even tried new settings and restarting Google Chrome several times but the op Banner refuses to show in Google Chrome.

Back to the drawing board I guess and more investigation needed.

Frustrating. And what's really annoying and frustrating is I know I have seen the M-F forums poster's OP Banner display in my Google Chrome previously.

Ahh... finally got the 0P Banner over the OP poster's Avatar to show and displayed properly using my Google Chrome.

Basically used the option to make a new user profile and use the Reset Settings and then a bit of updating and customization. Fiddally and time-consuming to getups to get set up properly but at least it's now working as it should for me in Google Chrome..
