I have only a few days left to order my macbook pro for college. I'm a film major and I'll need to run final cut.

I'm trying to push my dad for the 4 GB memory ramm, but my dad thinks ill be just fine with the 2 GB model.

Anyone know if i'm going to be ok with the 2 GB to run final cut? Will i need 4?

its kinda urgent so a quick response would be great then the this thread can be deleted. Thanks

2GB is fine for Final Cut. I use the app and I have 2GB in my PowerBook.
Obviously, more will not hurt anything at all. The more RAM FCP has, the better. 2GB is a good amount, though.

2GB is fine, but they recommend 4GB for editing uncompressed HD... chances are you won't need to do that, but RAM can always be added later if you do.
