Is it bad to always put imac on sleep mode?

I have a 27" Imac (5K) and whenever I'm done using it, I always put it to sleep mode, I never turn it off ever ! So is this bad for my Mac or nah ?

Bruce - I do the same w/ my iMac & my MBPro, i.e. power on 24/7 and rely on the 'sleep' features built into the machines/OS X - now, if we are going out of town for several days or more, I will shut down the computers. Dave :)

Per Apple's own guidelines, sleep is preferred unless you are going to be away from the computer for an extended period of time.

My iMac gets turned of and a later reboot Bruce if thunderstorms are about or if Apple had an update that requires the restart. Otherwise sleeps for weeks/months.
