I'm just wondering how the iPod Shuffle owners like them. I was thinking about getting the 1gb version, but the lack of a lcd scares me with that many songs. I need a flash drive thing for school since I am on the university's newspaper staff and I need something that's easy to transfer my work. Floppies are out of the picture since we use Apples exclusively at school (lucky me!) so I was thinking about a flash drive. I also wanted an iPod, so I figured: "why the **** don't i get a Shuffle, that way I can use it as as a flash drive as well." So, how do you guys like them?

Yea... I'm looking at the 15gb iPod right now and I can get that as a refurb from Apple for 185 or so. That price seems pretty good to me, so I think I might just go that route.

Spend the exra 15$ for the mini 8hrs playtime or 18hrs! unless you need the extra 11gbs

I've had mine for a couple months, and I really like it.

I use a 15GB 3rd gen iPod as my main music device, but for when I'm working out or taking a quick trip somewhere the Shuffle is great. The lack of display concerned me at first, but I got over it really quickly.

The fact that I can also use it as a flash key is great.

Well, I bought the 15gb... I'm sure I'll like it... It just seems foolish to me to buy an MP3 player to use as a flash key... Can't you change the battery to a more powerful one? It seems like I've seen that somewhere. It's not a huge deal, the battery life... mainly because it will be on the dock every night. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Switching an iPod's battery is very very tricky..and I do believe you lose your warranty (but I could be mistaken)..I love my shuffle but I'd never have it as my main iPod..I use it to to the gym and it's perfect..all the other people in my gym have to fiddle around with their bigger iPods cause they don't know where to put them..mines around my neck and it just stays there..lol

Well, I have a mini and it suits me fine but the Shuffle is so darn small one could wear it as an earring. I am not one to waste money on more than I actually need, but I surely have started to brainwash myself into thinking that I NEED an iPod that can dangle from my ear more than one clipped to my trousers...

It's not a reason to buy one, but it's a nice bonus to have it as a feature.

I love my iPod Shuffle 1 GB. It's great for me when I'm outside working and it doesn't have a hard disk so it doesn't ever skip. I use it to take my digital photo's to get developed. Which saves me money from using CD's. It's not for everyone but its great for me! :D

I personally bought the shuffle before getting anything else, price being a big factor. But I got an iPod Mini last week with the Apple promo for students. Buy a PB and get an iPod free. Anyway...

I really enjoy the shuffle because of its size and weight. Or should I say, lack of weight. Even with the Apple sports case, my Shuffle stays very light. If there wouldn't have been a promo with Apple, I don't think I would have bought an iPod mini. For my personnal needs, the Shuffle does it all.

I have both the 30GB photo, and the 1GB shuffle.

Honestly, I use my shuffle MUCH more often than my 30GB. Yes 200+ songs are a lot to page through without a screen. But honestly, I hardly put more than 50 songs on it. I use it primarily for commuting to work, the beach, listening to it at my desk, and working out. Anyone, of these activities will not last the duration of 50 songs.

I've mentioned this before, if you're a heavy user of the ipod shuffle, I think it's important to utilize the playlist option in iTunes. You could set-up a playlist for each day of the week, and change the songs on your shuffle with a few clicks of the mouse. As for downloading work files, the shuffle is great! It's quick, and has saved me numerous time with files to big to send to my personal email address.

I use the 30GB mostly for long drives. I don't use the photo option at all. The novelity of that function lasted about a month. The screen is to small, and it's just something I don't see much use for. Others may use it though.

I heard that Apple will be using flash memory for the next generation mini ipods. That will be great :teen:
