This will be better because you may get some skipping out of the original iPod's since they have a hard drive rather than the flash memory that comes in the iPod mini. This is just what I have heard about the 2 so don't quote me on this. I bought a iBook to use as my iPod, but I just use it at work and home not as a recreational use.
