Ipod locks up

Anyone ever seen an Ipod just lock up before. Its sitting there on pause but nothing I can do will shift it - not resonding to commands at all. Even when I connect to my imac it does nothing - in fact the imac does not recognisee the device. Will i just have to wait until it runs out of juice and then resynch it with the imac - what to do?

Mine locks up a bit and usually a hard reset does the trick. You have to remember that ipods are in a way little computers with software that needs to be reset every now and then.

Everytime after I sync, then go play a podcast, mine locks up. Holding Menu + Center button fixed is everytime.
