iPod download format

iMac i7 3.1 GHz, 4-core pros. 16 GB. "Yosemite"
I have a friend that sends me files from iPod and Pages can't open it. I think it may be a format problem. Tried to open with Libre Office and all I get is a scrambled message. Any ideas on what is going on?

What kind of files from an iPod? Pages can open rtf, doc, docx, and txt.

I may not be much help. All I know is that it is a PDF file CBS_TMS_SM now what all that means? He was able to open it on his iphone and send it again and then I was able to open it. Makes know sense to me.

Guest
Pages can't open PDF files, but Preview can. Make sure the file he sends you ends with .PDF.
