iPod cosmetic modifications?

a girl i know wants a pink iPod, but she doesn't want a dinky 4GB of storage.

has anyone taken apart a 3G iPod before? warranty or not, **** the torpedoes! i want to take it apart and paint it pink. any tips? any apple service folks out there that know how to do this?

She's going to need to wait then I think :) Eventually the mini iPods will be around 10GB or so, but that'll probably be in a couple of years. As for the hard drive.. not sure on that one.

How about attaching little rhinestones to cover it? Could take quite a bit of time, but looks awesome! I've been thinking about doing it to my iPod. Here's a cell phone rhinestone website that might help with your design. Good luck!
