iPhoto semi frozen

I have a mysterious new development. I was deleting many photos from my iPhoto files and suddenly one of them froze in the full screen display mode. In other words clicking escape does not close the photo and return me to the thumbnails. I have restarted iPhoto and even restarted the iMac but neither solves the problem. Never saw this before.

Suggestions will be appreciated.

UPDATE - for some reason everything returned to normal after 3 days with the problem. The mystery has mysteriously solved itself
