Iphone camera roll transfer to Ipad

what are my options to get my camera roll from my Iphone to my new Ipad?

I am using Icloud but only the last 30 days of photo stream transfers and ideally I'd like my last 2 years of phone photos onto my ipad?

I have tried saving them to an SD card and plugging into a PC but it wont let me drag and drop.

Any advice appreciated!

I am not sure about a PC. Using a Mac, I connect the iPhone to it, iPhoto opens, I transfer the photos. Then I unplug the iPhone and plug in the iPad, and use iTunes to tell it to sync the photos to the iPad. I would imagine that the process under Windows would be similar, except the pictures are stored in My Pictures rather than iPhoto.
