I have an old iPhone6 that I want to setup WITHOUT signing into iTunes (Music) or iCloud. I do NOT want to sign in with my Apple ID. I've gone through the erase everything mode on the iPhone itself and there's no way I can see of continuing without signing in with my Apple ID.

This device will ONLY be used for storing and playing music, not as a phone.

How can I finish this setup without signing into Apple ID?

Thanks!

I just set up a separate AppleID for my spare phone. Nothing from my "main" account gets associated with the spare that way.

Does that mean you have to create a new, separate e-mail address?

Yes, and since it's easy (and free) to do that, it makes perfect sense.

That's a good idea. It's an easy and free way to accomplish things.

@fireman0174 If you don't want to set up a new Apple ID, it's easy to use your existing ID and not have that data on the old phone. Try the following and see if this gets things the way you want them:

1. Set up the old phone using your existing Apple ID.
2. Go into Settings on the old phone and tap on your name.
3. That brings up your settings for your Apple ID. Turn off anything that you don't want to use on that phone.

If you don't want any of the data from your Apple ID on that phone, signing completely out of Apple ID at the bottom of that page should leave you with an active phone and no unwanted data on the phone.

There is no need to use an Apple ID or sign into anything. Check this MacWorld article for instructions. It's a few years old, but should still apply.
