iphone 6 and recording sound

I want to record some live music at a club. I'm sure the video using the 6 will be good for the web but how about the sound? The sound is important because it will be used for a promotional video on youtube.

The sound will be terrible. The microphone on an iPhone 6 is terrific for voice conversations, but it was simply not designed to record things like loud, live music.

What you want is something like the Digital Mikey ($90) from Blue microphones. It's an add-on that attaches to the Lightning port of your iPhone 6, and provides for a much higher-quality microphone that is specifically designed to capture different sorts of environments by having different settings on the device. Live music and other such performances are one of the specific settings.

Also have a good look at the RøDE ~ IXY microphone's. IMHO they are one of the better Microphone makers for iOS going around. From their site :
