iPhone 4S ringtones

I have just been given an iPhone 4S for my birthday!
There are many ringtones on the phone and one can download more from the App Store I understand but can one upload ones own ringtone, from recorded sounds for example?

On my (now) old Android phone I had a Peregrine Falcon call as my ringtone and would like to continue using this on the iPhone!

Can you add/make your own sounds for the timer or the alarm clock the same way?

Yup, once you load up the ringtones, as you create the alarms you should be able to choose those custom ringtones..

Excellent. I should go and find my custom ringtones and load them on my 5S, I've just been too lazy and I actually like a couple of the default ringtones..

Just to add to what Ashwin advised...

There are several sites that offer free ringtones for download which you can use with your iPhone. Some of them will have to be converted to a format that your iPhone understands - but that's simple because you can do it right from iTunes.
