Installing ios 8.3 on my wife's iPad resulted in iPhoto going away, along with all of her photos. Anyone know how to recover those photos? She is really ticked....

iPhotos is now called Photos. The icon is different too. My photos that were in iPhotos all moved to to the new Photos app. If they are not there did she have them backed up to her iCloud drive or some other cloud storage?

If the photos were in iPhoto for iOS, then she would have had to put them in there via the Photo App. When I had iPhoto for iOS, I did have albums that coincided with my Photo App, that I had in a Sharing Album, or in the cloud. Every other photo I put in there, I had to import from the Photo App.
To be perfectly honest I'm sure iPhoto went away in the iOS8 update, not 8.3, bc I haven't had it for some time, but I could be mistaking. She might need to dig down, but I'm pretty sure they would not have just disappeared, bc then Apple would be liable, especially if a Pro photographer used iPhot exclusively, and lost clients work . . . I'm away and can't dig around atm, but will see what I can find.
