Install OSX in new folder on same drive?

Hello. Sorry if this is a FAQ...I have looked for the answer via searching and most questions ask about installing OS 9 AFTER the fact, or onto two different drives, etc.

I have OS 9.2.2 running on a G3 right now. I want to put OSX on it. It has already had OSX on it previously, but when I took the extra HD out, I wiped the drive clean and only installed 9.

But I may need to boot back into 9 as the rest of the lab is running 9, except for my server and for my laptop.

So, is there anyway to create the dual directory like the eMacs have where both 9 and 10 are in the same partition?

Thanks!
Drew

Well, installing OS10 didn't solve the problem that I was hoping it would solve...and I would rather have OS9 than 10. Is there anyway to remove the OS10 that I just installed leaving the OS9 intact?

Thanks!

i think that if you go to the boot settings and have set it to boot in OS 9 then when you reboot i think all you have to do is drag the OS X folder to the trash

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that it would be that simple...btu there is a mess of folders every where and other items, like var and tmp. It is hard to tell what exactly I could chunk.

I was kind of hoping there was some uninstall or something.

Thanks!
