Just to explain my history a little with BitTorrent clients, I started using P2P services back in 2006. At that time Azureus was the best of them and I used it until Vuze arrived in the market around 2008 unfortunately like many open source applications it too died around 2016 at which time I started using uTorrent. In the very early days of P2P clients it was viewed as "geeky" by Windows users but fit very well into the software sharing, collaborative mentality of early Apple Mac users. As time went by the concept of P2P data sharing became a thorn in the side of commercial software developers, music recording studios and the movie industry leading to much tougher patent, copyright and personal data ownership laws and regulations. Nowadays the FBI actively seeks out and prosecutes the providers of BitTorrent files and data bases such as PirateBay and KickassTorrents while other sites have joined the commercial side and now require subscription from their users effectively becoming just another advertisement sponsored, live, online streaming site. There has also been a strong word of mouth opinion campaign spread that BitTorrent sites are just for pornography and other illegal stuff and to some degree this is true because the very philosophy behind the idea of a P2P system is that it be unregulated. Non the less being a bit of a relic from the 60's I still support the core values of the philosophy. Consequently I am happy to share what has been freely shared with me. This is the whole principal of P2P systems after all, but to do that I need a lot of control over what, how, when and to whom I share. This requires a very good VPN and a BitTorrent client with the necessary preference options. The link you included from Tom's Guide includes Vuze as one of the "15 Best...." and a fair amount of outdated and technically inaccurate information. I must admit when I saw Vuze listed I clicked on the link out of curiosity but got a "An error (403 Forbidden) has occurred in response to this request." response as expected. I'm glad that Transmission works for your purposes and thank you for your suggestions but as stated uTorrent looks like it will continue to serve my purposes. Cheers, Rod
