Was there a big update last night? Went to my iMac this morning and it had switched off. It was unresponsive initially but started eventually. Installed an update which took about 20 minutes.

There were no updates to macOS Catalina if that's what you're asking. What update did you install that took 20 minutes?

Yep. Turned on my iMac running Mojave this morning and it did a long update.

I haven't found anything from Apple yet, or anywhere else, detailing what was in the update.

I got an update to the Catalina beta Thursday night late some time late Thursday/early Friday and it was waiting yesterday morning when I logged in.

Well, until member "MarkWebb" tells us which update he downloaded.....

And by the way, the security update to Catalina occurred some time ago, likewise for the update to 10.15.4. So not sure which update he's referring to.

So then, tell us which version of macOS you're currently running. You can find out by clicking the Apple menu. "About this Mac"

That was exactly my experience. It didn't say if it was an update, or a security update, nor did it give any version numbers.

My Mac says that it is now running Mojave 10.14.6. I don't remember if it said something different prior to today.

Thanks Randy. Interesting to know I wasn't alone. Never seen that before. Running Mojave. 10.14.6
