Hi, I’m trying to calculate the Total amount of amps that my studio is using and am a bit confused about my Mac . Could you please help?

I’ve done some searching and see some numbers (like this http://tech.cyberclip.com/27-imac-electricity-consumption-stats) , but not sure what is correct/trustworthy.

Apple lists the iMac stats here but only provides Watts, whereas I’m looking for Amps.

I have:

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)

Full stats:

Does anybody know how much power this uses in amps?

Thanks, Dan

Not sure if this would give you an accurate result but the electronic formula:

P = EI can give you an approximate current consumption. Keep in mind that the iMac will draw more current if it's working hard.

P = Watts

E = 120V (US or Canada)

I = Current in Amps.

Note that the above really only works accurately for pure DC circuits. AC circuits involve phase so a more complicated formula is needed, however, the above should get you in the general ballpark.

I don't know what your mains voltage is, but generally:

amps = watts/volts

Sorry covered above.
