Hello folks, I've never been a Mac user, well not since I was at school 20 years ago! Anyway, I've been given an old iMac G5 (2005 20" ALS model) by a friend which has been in his loft for the last couple of years. I'm going to use it to familiarise myself with all things Mac. The HDD went pop a couple of years back, so it was removed, so I obviously need to replace the HDD. I've been doing some reading up on this, and I see these Macs had a heat sensor attached to the HDD mount. I have the mount and cable and I have sourced a replacement sensor, I'm just wondering how this was actually attached to the HHD mount? Am I right in saying it was stuck on using some kind of glue/adhesive? Any reconciliation on what I should use to get the replacement one on? Would a little spot of insulation tape do the trick? Thanks in advance for any help! :Mischievous:
