I just put together a Vantec NexStar 2 w/ a Samsung SH-S182 DVD+RW drive. The Vantec enclosure supports USB 1, 2 and Firewire. As this computer does not support USB 2, I have it connected via firewire.
The problem is that when trying to burn using NTI Dragon Burn or iTunes (only software used) I cannot burn a disk. I've been trying to burn an Audio CD but the drive just spins up as if it's burning and then the program hangs in intializing/preparing to burn state. I'm using the correct media and know this drive works.
I am running Mac OS X 10.4.10 with 384mb of ram also. Is there any updates I need ect?
