Apple want £400 to replace my only, 4 year old, motherboard. Seems an unreasonabley expensive breakdown. Anybody know how unusual is this failure? Are there any special warranties? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with any extended warranty which might be available in the UK for your iMac but £400 for a new logic board is not out of line. I'm assuming that you're referring to having the job done by Apple?

Wow, that's $643. Sure hope that isn't considered a normal failure at just 4 years.
