Why doesn't Apple give us the choice to implement double 2FA? It would be useful for many folks including myself. I have a nosey roommate thats got a unifi router, he'll follow my history and make stupid remarks and try to make it seem like he's getting access.

Anywho, it would be more secure to have more than 1two factor authenticators. I would like to see Apples authentication method in addition to a 3rd party authenticator.

What does the router and history have to do with Apple's 2FA?

2FA essentially means that you have to 2 pieces of data to get into an account. The first is usually the username/password and the 2nd is some combination of SMS message, authentication app or what Apple uses.

Of the 2FA schemes, SMS is the least secure.

Lots of folks avoid 2FA because it can be a real PITA if something goes wrong. And you want Apple to double down?

Give us a break!

And this discussion is over.
