iBook hardware upgrade questions

I have a 256mb stick of memory from a old dell I want to put in my G3 ibook. Should I be able to just stick it in and it will work?

I also have a CD-RW drive from the same dell and i was wondering if it would be just plug and play or if i would need drivers like in windows
