Bought an ibook g3 but the owner had installed ubuntu onto it- they also no longer have the install discs it came with.

I want to put mac os back onto it, restore it to factory settings, etc.

How can I do this without any discs?

You can't. Will have to come up with OS disk (black retail disk, not gray machine specific) for either OS 10.3 Panther or OS 10.4 Tiger.

Not cheap, and Tiger is the latest OS you can run.

There are no legal downloads of any Mac OS except Lion (which your system won't run).
Your choice is to stick with Ubuntu or purchase the OS. We don't support or discuss pirating software on this forum.
