First of all. If you buy a laptop of any sort in the store. Have them take it out and check all the pixels. Move the screen around and such. Cause this was an ordeal and apples policy says a few dead pixels are not defective. So i go to the store this morning. Exactly when they were opening. They had known about my issue because there was a note about my call the night before. So i put the powerbook on the "genius bar" and they verified 1 stuck pixel. They then proceeded to print out a KB article about how there is 16.9 million pixels and prices would rise if they had to make the screen perfect blah blah. I was very persistent but not to the point of rude. I pulled every card I had... I asked them if they had bought it would they accept dead pixels on an 1600 machine. I told them how much business i send them being a systems engineer at a university. I showed them how much of a loyal customer i have been since a child and how I never have been dissapointed will quality etc. I told them 1600 for a machine that had dead pixels out of the box is frankly unacceptable. I asked them if i were to return it and pay the return fee would they actually sell it with dead pixels??? (answer was yes) To make a long story short the tech i was talking to called up his manager and agreed to wave the return fee and replace it for a new machine. We then opened the new one up and verifyed all pixels. I thanked them about 100x and told them apple has yet to dissapoint me. they re-assured me that what they want is to make customers happy. so right now I'm VERY VERY VERY happy with Apple. i LOVE MY POWERBOOK!!!! and i will be moving to the Powerbook forum soon. Thanks for all your help with everything here everyone. And i must say if you have the money and debating whether to get a powerbook or iBook... specifically the 12". Go with the powerbook. Such a beautiful machine. Josh
