I need upgrade 10.4.11 to 10.5.8+ for iPad

I'm getting a 3G model iPad for my mother.
Her Mac mini has OS 10.4.11, and 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo.
I need to upgrade the OS to 10.5.8 or later.
What's the best way to do this?

Best and cheapest way is to buy the $29 Snow leopard upgrade disk from Apple.

It will update that Mini running Tiger to the latest version of OSX

Good luck on finding Leopard.. You may be able to find a good copy on Amazon or something, but I believe Apple is phasing Leopard out?

I COULD MOST definitely be wrong about that though..

But yeah, if you can't find it, I second louishen.

The $29 Snow Leopard upgrade works perfectly fine to upgrade from Tiger.
