I need help with my mac

Nothing on my MacBook works! Things like skype, photo booth, etc don't work properly! When ever I try to save something in a program like audacity, flash, etc, my cursor turns to a spinning beach ball and I have to force quit. I already tried verifying disk permissions and that didn't work. Restarting doesn't work either. Please help give a solution to this! (I'm using OS X Yosemite)

yep you need 4 gig's or better to run yosemite without issues.
