I was told to look at this website for help...
here are my specs
Machine Model: Power Mac G5
CPU Type: PowerPC 970 (2.2)
Number Of CPUs: 2
CPU Speed: 2 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 6.5 GB
Bus Speed: 1 GHz
Boot ROM Version: 5.1.5f0

I am running 10.3.9
Which OS is the highest i can upgrade?
I have no idea how to do it... where to get OS... or am i stuck with 10.3.9?

10.5.8 or in other words Leopard. Only OSX you can't use on a Power Mac G5 because it's Power PC and not Intel is Snow Leopard.

Where to get it is another matter since it's price has gone way up since Snow Leopard came out. I would check say Ebay but be sure it's 10.5 Retail and not a machine specific DVD.

With 6.5GB Ram 10.5 should run very well.

So i can get this and there should be no problem... just be sure not to grab the ones that come with a machine retail IN THE BOX basically thanks for the help man i love this website.

If that doesnt work any other ones... sorry new to macs.

Call Apple to order Leopard retail version. Last report I saw, just a day or two ago, was the cost is $80. Get the number from the online Apple Store. You cannot order it online, or buy it in the Apple Store.
