NOTE FOR MODERATORS: I've just realised that this post probably belongs in "macOS - Apps and Programs" - please move if necessary. I searched the forums in case anyone else has mentioned this, but it came up a blank, so... As you'll see from my profile panel, I'm running El Cap on a 2008 Mac Pro. El Cap is the latest release of OSX that the machine will run, and neither of my onboard browsers (Firefox and Safari) can be updated any more, so of course I've been running into that problem where modern webpages simply can't be rendered properly, or you get the "Your browser is out of date - upgrade now" lock-out situation. After a fair bit of dispiriting web-searchery, looking for a browser that could run under El Cap and cope with the modern-day web, I found one that's specifically written for the purpose, so I thought I'd share the news in case there's anyone else here who's determined to squeeze a few more years out of their beloved steam-powered kit. It's called "Chromium-legacy" and you can find out all about it on its Github page: GitHub - blueboxd/chromium-legacy: Latest Chromium (≒Chrome Canary/Stable) for Mac OS X 10.7+ To actually download the app, go to the releases page: Releases · blueboxd/chromium-legacy I'm using it right now to post this. Have imported all my settings and bookmarks etc from Firefox, and so far it's working a treat. Hope this info proves useful to someone. :)
