Upon receiving my 17in macbook pro, I immediately powered it on and began using it, surfing the web and using photobooth. My friend just told me that I've most likely damaged the battery life because I didn't charge it first. Is this true? If so, how can I fix it. I seem to be getting around 6 hours of battery life.

Lithium polymer batteries are very robust and dont mind being charged and used from initial use

What a load of malarky. If that were the case, I figure 9 out of 10 people damage the battery the first day cause at least that many are going to turn the thing on the first thing they do after getting it out of the box.

Calibrate the battery once a month and read up on taking care of the battery from Apple - link - how to calibrate is there also.
