Wow when my 1.67 GHz...1 gig RAM... 80 GB...17" Powerbook G4 was delivered last evening by the UPS guy, I was tempted to shed a tear of happiness! I never smiled as much as I did... I was never happier.. not even for my first Sony Vaio laptop (my Sony is crying for my attention right now).. and then I took a sighhh of "omg i own this sexy thing"...

So then I loaded it up and all my room mates could here from me were a bunch of "oooohhh"s and "aaahhhhhh"s...makes me wonder what they think I was doing haha. And i havent left my seat for the last 6 hours just playing around with my new baby.. everything is setup so beautifully on here its crazy to think why microsoft is so boring with their designs.

Anyways I love this... i WILL NOT miss my windows usage... I am a MAC MAN now and thats that.

What are some cool things that I should know about my mac? some cool shortcuts maybe?

You can drag & drop nearly everything (try pictures/text from safari onto desktop, files onto icons in the dock, folders into the right hand side of the dock).

Have you got exposé set up?

Hold shift and then hit an exposé button...

Congrats on your purchase. I love my 15 inch PB

By the way, how do I set up expose on a power book (with use of the F9, F10, F11 keys) F9 and F10 are dedicated to the keyboard lighting. I really dont even need that function to kick in until it is dark.

I am very happy with this machine and will post pics later.

I was curious about this though... In windows I was able to see thumbnails of my pics in my folders... is that possible with the mac?

Yes you can. Do a apple command - j, in the window that you want to the thumbnails pics. Then select show icon preview.

the apple/command is a key on you keyboard.. if you are using a apple keyboard it will be the key to the left and right of the space bar. it has a "apple" on the key.

I believe that is depended on your the manufacturer of the keyboard. If the keyboard came from Apple, it is next to the space bar. The alt key on a PC keyboard may work.

If your system disk is full, it will have an affect on the way your system will act. You will need to boot your system in single user mode.

If I remember correctly, boot your system and press, then hold down the s key. This should get you in to single user mode. The next step is to do some house cleaning.
