i tryed 3 differant applictions and the same message came up.

i opened the info for the app to see what it opens with. But there is no "allways open with" info.

Sounds like you are trying to open an Intel app on a PPC Mac. What application are you trying to open? What are the specs of your Mac? If you're unsure, for the sake of this problem, I only need to know your processor. Go to  > About This Mac. What does it say for processor? The applications that can't open - what does it say for "Kind" when you right click and choose "Get Info"?

Powerbooks use PowerPC CPUs. They can't run software that's only made for Intel...

A fact that has been annoying me more and more lately.
