Imac here, 2 internal drives one is a ssd with the osx lion on it the other is a internal 2tb that is partitioned 500gb for bootcamp win7/1.5tb for mac storage.

I moved a ton of stuff off my old pc onto the mac storage drive, mostly pics music and some large vob movie files. I went thru it all and deleted a good 3/4 of it, my trash shows 76,850 items (easily about 1tb of stuff).

So I hit empty trash get a message about Secure Empty Trash, i choose that, then "remove all items" and it shows a bar like it's going to erase all of them but it never does erase them, if i go back later they are all still there and I am sorta stuck in this loop of the above mentioned info with none of it going away...

I will admit I am totally new to the mac, spend about 90% of the time on the windows side of things just getting work done but slowly I am trying to learn the mac side, maybe something simple but I am stuck at this point...

Bill :)

Try deleting again, but this time do not use secure delete trash as that will take forever with 1 TB to remove.

And if all else fails try a reboot.
