A little help for the newbie.
I finally switched and bought the DP G5 with 17" display and 1 Gig Ram.
What about utility programs like WINZIP,RoboForms? I used Roxio Easy Creator to rip music, does ITunes do that? What are the essential utilities to have?
How about Outlook Express?
Right now I have a Dell hooked to a Cable Modem with a router. Do I just plug in the Cat5 cable and allow file sharing?
What is the best tutorial for the Mac OX?

Basically it is the mail application. Altyson calls the mail appliaction Mac Mail. On your dock you should find a postage stamp. That is the mail application icon.

RoboForms is not necessary on the Mac; it's functions are built into the Safari web browser and the system Keychain feature.

Depending on your router, file sharing over ethernet should work just fine.

iTunes will rip music into MP3 format, play it back, and allow you to burn mix CDs, as well as buy (legal) online music and manage many MP3 players.

"Mail" is Apple's incredibly creative name for the eMail client included with OS X. It works pretty well. You could also use Eudora or Microsoft Entourage, depending on your preference.

I recommend the Mac mail as it has the best spam separator I have ever seen! :)

Or any of the Mozilla offerings for Mail. I've never used Mac Mail (Mail), because I don't have a mac yet =(...

I personally prefer Entourage over Mail because it's a PIM (Personal Information manager) and keeps your calendar, your contacts, your mail program, notes, Tasks etc all in one program, while Apple has all those applications all spread out and it's a huge pain in my opinion and pretty much anybody else that I have introduced to the Mac..
