HP Laserjet 1010 mac drivers

I am buying a Macbook Air and I want to know if there is a Mac Driver for my somewhat old but very reliable printer

Welcome to Mac-Forums..

Always start with the manufacturer website for these kinds of questions. Anyway, HP is listing that the 1010 driver is available through Apple Software Update, so you should be fine..

I know the 1010-1015 did have OSX drivers. Like was suggested above check HP's driver page for your printer. I just hope if you are running Yosemite on that new Air HP has kept up with the newer versions of OSX!

It was the 1020 that did away with OSX support. Many yelled so a 1022 came out with OSX drivers! Grin

I use the 1022 drivers with my 1020.

HP's driver site is having issues from here anyway. I will check later. I know for sure the 1010 Laserjet works with 10.7 Lion. My friend has a 1010 with and older iMac.

Thanks dennis - I'll try what you suggest. feeling a bit "raw" after a lifetime of Windows Windows Windows....... this is our first adventure into Mac - excited but apprehensive.
hope soon to say I'll never see another Window!

The HP Laserjet 1010 is supported along with the other 10XX Laserjet printers. I'm currently using a Laserjet 1012 with Yosemite.

When you add the printer to the MBA, OS X will automatically get the drivers and be good to go..

laserjet 1012 yosemite

Since I have Yosemite, my HP laserjet 1012 does not work. It communicate with my Imac (receiving that the printing is 100% done), but there is no printing. I search for driver, but can not find any.. What is the problem?

I have no idea why your HP LaserJet 1012 is not working. As I indicated above in a previous post, I'm using a HP 1012 with Yosemite and it works fine. Why don't you try removing the printer in System Preferences, Printers & Scanners, and then add it back in and let the driver for it download automatically.

Also, the HP 1012 LaserJet is supported in Gutenprint Mac and works well with that set of drivers in addition to the Apple supplied drivers.

Thanks for answering. I try to uninstall and reinstall and that did not work. Now I have an interrogation point instead of the printer's icon. Perhaps I try gutenprint and let you know if it work. Thank you very much.
