Hello,

I am trying something with my MacBook Air and am hard-pressed to find a way to uninstall VirtualBox. I understand this is different from removing software from Windows, and even tried moving it to the trash. Kindly help. Thanks!

Hi,

I went to the link, ran the commands, shut down the machine and then started it up again. However, when I go to applications, the icon for Virtual Box is still there.

Please see attached .png for illustration. How do I safely get rid of this?

Yes, just trash the icon. The main thing about uninstalling VB is removing the large VM file which resides in the VB folder. If you followed the directions in that link, then it's gone.

Regards.

VirtualBox doesn't create partitions. However, it does create virtual hard drives which should be removed using the technique in the article linked to by chscag.
