Recently, last night to be exact, my Macbook Pro froze and would no longer boot. I had to do a new OS install, leaving me with a Previous System Folder. I was wondering, if possible, the best way to restore my computer back to its old settings using that file. If you can please shed some insight on this problem for me.

So I tried to restore my old files by following the steps on apples support page found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2196
After deleting my account that I named the same as my previous user folder, as instructed, I am no longer able to access any of the folders on my old account. I keep getting the message "The Folder "Desktop" could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges." Please can anyone help me open these files once again?
