How to ReBoot

I ve read in this forum that I should ReBoot my MacbookPro Retina once in a while and its good for them. What does that mean and pls tell me how to ReBoot my system, what keyboard key should I use, like??

Reboot = Restart.
Kick on the apple logo at the top left hand corner of the screen then select "Restart".

Here are the shortcuts for OS X: OS X: Keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

You can hit Control+Power button to show you a dialog from where you can choose Restart or Sleep. The same is available, as docx said, from clicking on the Apple icon on the top left..

You can hit CMD+Control+Power to force a reset if your Mac is stuck..

I reboot using command + R and saw on list says OX Base System? Whats that suppose to do?
