how to open file on new macbook?

Your Mac's Specs
White Macbook c2d 2.16ghz 1gig ram 120 gig hdd
had to download firmware so i can fix stupid linksys wrt45g router and can not open file, mac asks to find program to open it, but linksys web page says to use win zip? do i have this on my mac already?

StuffIt Expander should work. I think it's downloadable from the Apple site.
