How to download sent mailbox (folder) from Hushmail to Apple Mail?

I have a Hushmail account I have been using for several years.
It currently has just over 10000 emails in the inbox and a bit over 5000 emails in the sent box

I want to somehow save/archive all these messages.
For the inbox, I set up an IMAP account on my Apple Mail with the Hushmail user name and password - that allowed me to download all of the inbos to a folder in my Apple Mail account.
I want to do the same thing with all the mail in my Hushmail sent box, but can't figure out how.

I followed several suggestion brought up by google, one method is shown by Hushmail here:

Trouble is when I get to "Use this mailbox for" which on ElCapitan is "Use this mailbox as", all the options show but are dimmed out.

The other option would be to somehow export the Hushmail sent folder, but Hushmail doesn't offer that option.

Does anyone actually use Hushmail?

Well,

turns out I now received all the mails in my Hushmail sent folder on an Apple Mail folder on the Mac...except they are useless - just gibberish when I open them because, I assume, they are encrypted.
If I open any mail in the sent folder in Hushmail it's of course fine but I assume that is not the way the messages are stored in Hushmail.

So...back to the drawing board, as they say.

Turns out that many of the inbox emails are gibberish as well - every email where encryption was turned on.

Seems to me the only way to download the Hushmail inbox and sent box is to open each email and forward it to my Apple Mail account.

Either manually or maybe with some sort of script (or Automator?)

Anyone have any suggestions?

It looks like you're between a rock and a hard place, especially with the encryption now seems to use.

The note at their site seems to imply that it's going to be almost impossible, at least from what I was able to translate what they said:

Please note: When sending mail from a third-party mail client, your copy of the message will be saved in your Sent folder as encrypted, even if the message is sent as non-encrypted. By default, any mail sent via SMTP from a third-party mail program will be sent as non-encrypted, unless the recipient is a Hushmail customer or has previously set a passphrase for receiving encrypted email.

From what I read, I don't think you're going to be able to do what you want to do.

You may well be correct.

When I look at the sent folder I now have in my Apple mail, only the messages I sent to other hushmail users are encrypted, so what they say (that all messages in the sent folder are encrypted) is actually not true, but a big chunk of sent messages are encrypted, so opening each one and forwarding it to my Apple Mail will still be a big job.

Hushmail offers archiving sent messages for a fee - I'm going to contact them tomorrow to see exactly what they mean by that.
If I can archive them on the Mac not encrypted somehow.

Turns out I had to forward all these emails manually which was not only tedious, but made me appreciate my Mac much more.

I don't know what software Hushmail is using to run their server, but it didn't seem to be able to handle afew thousand forwards even at the manual rate I was going at.
Every once in a while the server would either freeze completely or the forward would not complete or instead of going back to the page where I was forwarding from, it would automatically go to page one of that folder.
Quite frustrating; "quirks" I have with the Mac are a lot fewer.
