Once I wipe the Mac clean, I'll install via th OS disc that came with the MacBook Pro (it's either 10.3 0r 10.4) I will then go to the closest Mac store and use their more secure Airport (as opposed to the library's) or Ethernet connection (libraries around these parts don't offer Ethernet) to upgrade back to 10.6.8. After that I will migrate my Mac HD backup (containing 10.6.8 filed stuff) back into the MBP, then upgrade to the latest OS that 10.6.8 will allow. I'm wondering though, if I had permissions problems before, wouldn't those be copied into my CCC backup (since I backed up the entire Macintosh HD folder), and then be re-introduced into my clean Mac if I migrate the whole Macintosh HD folder? Perhaps, I should just drag and drop my old Home folder to the newly cleaned Mac instead, since the only files from the previous Mac in the Home folder will only be documents, music, and video files, which don't contain any permissions? Again, thanks in advance for any suggestions.
