how to assign the F13, F14, 15, F16 buttons.

Hey, i just bought a new apple keyboard and i connected it to my ibook.
But somehow am having some problems with the extra F buttons. HOw to make use of these buttons?.. I can't change my keyboard shortcuts to the new F buttons.
Anyone can help?..

if you can't create a new shortcut in system preferences>keyboard & mouse>keyboard shortcuts, I suggest trying this REALLy great app called Spark , it lets you set shortcut keys for anything and anything, and designate what the shortcut will be. :)
