The problem is that the external HD I was saving it to got disconnected for a moment, and when I reconnected it and tried to save the minor change I'd made, it got confused and sat there in a "saving thumbnails" mode. I thought interrupting the save might help preserve what I'd had from the previous save, but apparently that was the wrong thinking. I quit iMovie and shut off the ext-HD and restarted. When I opened the file, everything was in the trash. Does that still sound to you like the movie timeline is probably now unrecoverable?</p></blockquote><p></p>
