How much does it generally cost to either fix or replace a bad logic board? I know that some units (including mine) are under the extended apple thing, but I don't have the original receipt. So, if it comes down to me having to buy a new (or used) logic board and installing it myself, so be it. I really hope it doesn't come down to that because logic boards are frightfully expensive, much more than my g3 800 is worth. ****, I regret buying that used iBook. I could have bought a refurb for 799.99 with a year warranty, but no, I wanted something NOW. You live and learn, let this be a lesson to everyone... a fairly expensive one. I ended up paying close to 700.00 for that g3 iBook. The computer itself was 450. Extra battery (which I really ended up not needing,) 80 bucks. Airport card, 80 bucks. Tiger OS, 69 dollars with student discount. However, 3 days with the beautiful iBook, priceless... yea right, I surely screwed up.
