I just bought my first MBP and I'm curious how the os use both the Intel Iris Pro and the GeForce GT750 M. In the system information window only the Iris is mentioned but looking at all the hardware both are mentioned. Does the os adjust things automatically, are there any settings etc? So far I haven't tried anything demanding graphics-wise, but I will be doing 3D and CAD.

Thanks! That's good info. So there are never really any situations where I would need to force it to switch to one or the other?

You may run into a situation where you would want to use the more powerful GPU and are on AC power rather than battery. Here is free program that you can download which will allow you to control switching.
