How do i split my movie into sections and put on my desktop???

I want to take my 4min 16 sec music video and export it to my desktop in 1min 4sec sections ...how do i do this??? i tried to call apple help but after a half an hour on hold the person was still no help! anybody know??

Download the free MPEG Streamclip. Load the movie in it. Clip away all but the first 1:04. Save to desktop using a different name in the same format.

Then reload the original whole movie. This time, trim all but the 1:05 to 2:09 mark. Save the result as a different name to your desktop.

Repeat until you have what you want.

You could put it into iMovie, select the segments as required, make a Project of each and then Share to file.
Or you could open it in Quicktime and use the Trim function.
