How do I know if my DVD drive is broken?

Your Mac's Specs
13" MBP - 2.7 Ghz, Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM.
I'm trying to open a burned DVD with a .mov on it. It worked when it was burned on a PC with Roxio because I tested it beforehand. I brought it home and now it just spins and spins in my MacBook. Is there something in System Pref. that'll tell me if it's busted?

Bump -- I tried the DVD in an iMac today at school and it worked fine so at least I know it wasn't the disc.

Try another disc in your dvd drive and see if it works?
